The Eagle who was Afraid of Heights

Written by Wayne Strickler
Illustrated by Jocelyn Sandor Urban

Everest the Eagle was born in a nest at the top of a lightning-blasted fir tree not far from Skagway, Alaska.  There was only one problem — Everest was afraid of heights!

Finally, with the help of his sister, Everest is able to overcome his childish fear and realize that, as an Eagle, he can fly!

It is a simple story but one that is relevant to all small children.  The illustrations are true to life, not cartoons, so please make sure your child looks carefully at the animals in Everest’s life.  And there is a quiz at the end!
We hope you enjoy it!
